Precautions for selecting steel wire ropes for electric hoists

　　Steel wire rope is an important accessory in electric hoists, and the frequency of replacement is also relatively frequent. Therefore, how to choose a replacement steel wire rope is explained in detail by Shanghai Engineering:

　　1. The wire rope used for electric hoists should prioritize the use of wire contact wire ropes, and its structural type should comply with the rope 18 in GB/T8918 × 7 and rope 6 × 37, with a nominal tensile strength not less than 1570MPa.

　　2. When multiple steel wire ropes are used to support the load, a pulley device should be installed to equalize the force on each steel wire rope.

　　3. When the hook is at the lowest point of the working position, the safety ring of the steel wire rope on the drum must be no less than 2 turns (excluding the number of turns fixing the end of the rope).

　　4. When fixing the steel wire rope with a wedge joint, it should comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 5973.

　　5. For electric hoists used for lifting molten metal, effective measures such as radiation resistant partitions should be taken for steel wire ropes.

　　After replacement, attention should be paid to:

　　1. To unwind, the rope reel should be placed on a dedicated bracket, or a steel pipe can be threaded into the rope reel hole, and ropes should be placed on both ends to lift and slowly rotate the rope reel. (2) Arrangement of steel wire rope on the drum

　　2. The winding direction of the steel wire rope on the drum must be based on the winding direction of the steel wire rope. The right twisting rope should be arranged from left to right, and the left twisting rope should be arranged from right to left. The winding should be arranged neatly to avoid deviation or clamping.

　　3. The steel wire rope should be cut at two edges 10-20mm apart and tightly tied with iron wire. The binding length should be 1-4 times the rope diameter, and then cut with a cutting tool
