Misunderstanding of the "double safety" fixation of wire rope electric hoists

Double safety "fixation refers to the method of fixing the rope end of the electric hoist with a steel wire rope. If a wedge joint is used for fixing the rope end of the electric hoist with a steel wire rope, only ensuring that the rope end is not loose can meet the usage requirements.
The misconception of using "double safety" fixation: The purpose of using a wire rope clamp is to prevent the rope end of the wire rope from loosening, but the design size of the wire rope clamp cannot meet the requirement of generating sufficient pre tension on a single wire rope, and the wire rope clamp is prone to detachment from the rope end of the wire rope. In actual use, the installation personnel can only install the steel wire rope clamp together with the main rope to ensure that the steel wire rope clamp does not fall off, which cannot meet the process requirements. Not only does it not play the role of the so-called "double safety", but once the installation is incorrect or the pre tightening force is too high, it can cause damage to the steel wire rope at the clamp position, reduce the fatigue strength of the steel wire rope, and there is clearly an accident risk.
The purpose of the "double safety" fixing method of using a wire rope clamp at the end of the wire rope electric hoist to prevent loose rope ends is to seek convenience and save time. The function of preventing loose wire rope ends not only cannot be effectively guaranteed in the process, but also has safety hazards.
