Electric hoists often use double wound steel wire ropes. Generally, a rope twisting machine is used to twist several steel wires into strands, and then a certain number of strands are twisted together with the rope core as the center, forming a spiral rope.

　　(1) The steel wire of the electric hoist steel wire rope: It bears the load, and the breaking force of the electric hoist steel wire rope mainly depends on the tensile strength of the steel wire. Steel wire obtains high strength and bending toughness through cold drawing. In addition, the surface treatment of the steel wire is carried out according to different environmental conditions to enhance the corrosion resistance of the steel wire rope.

　　(2) The core of the steel wire rope of the electric hoist: It supports the rope strands to reduce contact stress between the steel wires, increase the elasticity and toughness of the steel wire rope of the electric hoist, store oil to lubricate the steel wire, reduce friction, and improve service life. Rope core materials include organic fibers (such as hemp and cotton), synthetic nylon fibers, asbestos cores (used for high-temperature conditions), or soft metals.
