The first generation CD/MD type wire rope electric hoist designed since 1963 has undergone multiple improvements and designs, producing generation after generation of electric hoists. However, the basic composition and working form of all electric hoists remain unchanged.

　　When the CD1 type steel wire rope electric hoist is powered on, the lifting motor with a conical rotor directly drives the gear shaft of the input shaft of the reducer through an elastic coupling. After three stages of gear reduction, the hollow shaft of the output shaft of the reducer drives the drum to rotate, which can wrap the steel wire rope and make the hook perform lifting and lowering actions. When the power is cut off, the conical rotor of the lifting motor acts as a brake, and the electric hoist stops working. The start and stop actions of the lifting motor and the running trolley are controlled by electrical control devices. The wire rope electric hoist mainly consists of a drum device, a wire rope, a reducer, a double wheel trolley, a lifting motor, an electrical control device, and a hook device. Each wire rope electric hoist must have these configurations.
